This will be my last “looking for help” post for a while- promise. But is anyone planning on attending the Queer Bodies in Psychotherapy conference in SF from October 17-19? I found out about this last week when I did a google search for some random research and stumbled across it. Being that I already have a master’s in gender politics and now I’m in a mental health counseling program with the goal of working with the queer community…this is basically the perfect conference for me. I just need somewhere to stay- I was going to stay with an ex and that’s turned into a big mess (surprise!) and I might be able to find an acquaintance to stay with, but I’d like to have some sort of plan before I get a plane ticket. Would anyone be interested in going in on a hotel room together- though from what I’ve seen they’re pretty expensive. The hotel the conference is at has a special rate if you’re attending, but it’s still $169 a night. If I get funding from my psych. dept. this might be a possibility, but being that I just started the program last month, that seems unlikely. Or does anyone reading this have a couch I can crash on for 2 nights? Feel free to leave a comment with any suggestions or send me an e-mail at buddhistfemme@gmail.com. Thanks!
