I’m a 29 year old queer Buddhist femme living in NYC. I feel that queer, Buddhist and femme are all important in establishing my point of view, but I in no way my find my identity to be fixed or in opposition to any other identities. I’m primarily interested in the psychology of intimacy and how consumerism and technology are affecting the ways we relate to one another. I feel that Buddhism, while not a solution in itself, has much to offer to this discussion.
I’ve been engaged with this topic for quite some time and am looking for a way to organize my ideas and get some feedback. I imagine this blog to be a combination of my personal experiences, where these issues come up for me, and a more general theoretical discussion- reactions to what I’m reading, etc.
I’m also a strong believer in the need for humor and sarcasm and I’m a bit of a smartass…a Buddhist smartass.
